Costa Smeralda, completed in 2020, is the largest ship in the Costa Crociere fleet. Its interiors were designed by four practices — Tihany Design, Jeffrey Beers International, Rockwell Group and Dordoni Architetti — under a masterplan by Tihany Design, with Partner Ship Design. Lichtvision's general lighting binds the venues together and shapes the transitions from one area to the next, while custom decorative fittings and accents on architectural features give each restaurant, shop and entertainment space its own character. Dim-to-warm and tuneable-white technologies allow the atmosphere to shift between day and night, connecting interior and exterior areas.
