Pitch and field-of-play lighting is designed to the relevant class of EN 12193 and to the broadcast requirements of the governing body — vertical illuminance towards every camera position, controlled uniformity gradients, flicker-free operation for super-slow-motion, and colour rendering that holds for high-definition transmission.

Just as important is everything around the field: spectator tiers designed for safe egress, emergency lighting integrated into the architecture, and show-lighting scenes that let an arena switch from a league match to a concert or a ceremony within minutes.

In transport buildings, light is wayfinding. We build a luminance hierarchy in which signage, thresholds and vertical circulation always read brighter than their surroundings, so the passenger is guided by the architecture rather than by extra signs. Daylight is part of that strategy: large roofs and glazed facades are modelled so that the electric lighting blends into the daylight instead of fighting it.

Maintenance drives the detailing. Luminaires at fifteen or thirty metres must be accessible, long-lived and replaceable within an operating airport or a running station, so we specify for access strategy and lifecycle cost as rigorously as for photometrics.

A stadium or terminal is a landmark, read from the approach road, from the air and from the surrounding neighbourhoods. We design the facade as a controllable identity layer — dynamic for event nights, restrained for everyday operation — and hold it to DarkSky principles: directed light, low upward light output, controlled colour temperature and a curfew strategy that respects residents and wildlife.
